Job Description
Salary: $26.00 + DOE

JOB SUMMARY
This position provides nursing support and care for the physical well-being of clients and residents.


HOURS: Monday-Friday Daytime Hours. 8 hour shifts, expected 40 hours per week.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Licensed Practical Nurse does not supervise any positions.


LPN DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assess, observe, record and maintain health-related information on each resident through initial exams and ongoing monitoring, through the direction of the Registered Nurse or the Family Nurse Practitioner, to ensure comfort and safety of residents and staff
  • Oversee and monitor the dispensing, storage, refilling and destruction of medication; train appropriate staff in dispensing of medication and discuss medication errors to ensure clients, residents and children receive proper dosage
  • Attend all staffing meetings to include general staffing, diagnostic staffing and mental health staffing to provide input and ensure staff is apprised of activities
  • Participate in nursing on-call coverage for ShareHouse with other nursing staff to ensure appropriate coverage for medically-related questions and concerns
  • Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity
  • Document responses to new medications to ensure clients to minimize adverse reactions and optimize benefits
  • Organize and arrange outside healthcare provider appointments to ensure and maintain good health habits and maintenance of sober lifestyle


LPN PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with treatment team to provide residents with holistic approach to health and sobriety
  • Assist Registered Nurse with duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 year/Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program


REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Must hold current, valid Licensed Practical Nursing certificate
  • Must be Healthcare BLS CPR certified
  • Requires valid class “A” driver’s license and acceptable driving record by company insurance standards


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Possess working familiarly with and knowledge of state and Federal regulations, and company policies/procedures that apply to healthcare and chemical dependency treatment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business communication
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Ability to review and record data with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral communication
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationship-building
  • Ability to use established procedures and policies in order to solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and demands and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to establish relationships with clients, peers, direct reports and management
  • Ability to type/keyboard with minimal errors

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.
