Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

We are seeking a parttime (16 hour a week, alternate weekends) Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team! Under the direction of the RN Manager, you will assist with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment and care of our religious sisters living at the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing care to resident sisters
• Assist with established treatment and care plans
• Monitor and report changes in symptoms or behavior
• Educate sisters about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Maintain accurate sister medical records
• Provide advice and emotional support to sisters

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields with a focus on geriatric care
• Familiarity with medical software and equipment
• Ability to build rapport with sisters
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a home-like atmosphere

The primary responsibility is to assist the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters in achieving and maintaining optimum health, functional capability and quality of life while remaining in their home at OLA. The LPN responds to and supports the medical needs of the OLA Sisters. Must have strong understanding and leadership of “aging in place” and “person-centered care” concepts.
